Rx B12 comes in the popular liver/bacon flavor and contains 250 micrograms of cyanocobalamin per milliliter. Instead of having to bring their B12 deficient animals to the vet clinic every month for the injection, Rx B12 can be easily administered at home. This increases the convenience for the pet owner while still giving the vet control and management of the patient.
Vitamin B12 is an essential vitamin that plays a critical role in dogs and cats. It is not made by the body and must come from food or nutritional supplements. B12 deficiency can lead to health problems, and both dogs and cats can develop a deficiency to this vitamin. B12 deficiency can also be genetically passed on, especially in border collies, beagles, border collies, and giant schnauzers. It can also occur in dogs and cats with chronic GI issues or exocrine pancreatic insufficiency (EPI). Some common signs of EPI include weight loss, lethargy, loss of appetite.
For dosing smaller animals, one milliliter daily will be the equivalent of one injection a month. Medium-sized animals would be 2 milliliters daily and for large sized animals, 3 milliliters daily.
